Dr Bala obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Sri Lanka in 2007. After relocating to Australia, he worked across several hospitals in Victoria and New South Wales, gaining broad clinical experience in general medicine, emergency medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and surgery.
He later transitioned into general practice and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2021. Dr Bala has over seven years of experience in general practice and continues to work in hospital settings, with an ongoing focus on emergency medicine.
He has completed the Emergency Medicine Certificate through the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) and is currently undertaking the Advanced Emergency Medicine Training Program (AEMTP).
